For 13 years Support Local Agriculture has brought attention to our local farmers and farm related products. Many have been in the guide since the beginning. The guide includes a map for Berrien County. Our goal is to give those who are visiting, as well as year-round residents, the opportunity to explore more farms in the area.
The area along Lake Michigan is a magical place for agriculture. The fertility of the soil combined with the climate creates a perfect environment to grow just about anything. Southwest Michigan leads the world in non-citrus fruit production and 70% of the crop diversity in the United States grows in Berrien County. Our hope is that many folks will see our map and try new farm stands with exciting fresh produce, grass-fed meats, flowers, fiber, and eggs.
